Labor Day Weekend

Our weekend hasn't gone as planned due to the weather. Within the last week we have had one typhoon and one tropical storm pass over the island...the last two days it has rained ALL day. The good news is that it is a long weekend and David has off Monday and Tuesday. So we still have two more days to squeeze in some fun in the sun. Today we got stuff for us to go snorkeling tomorrow..hopefully the sun shines! We also went to a little craft show on base and out to dinner at a place called Arin Krin with my friend Carrie and her family. Carrie has been an amazing friend since I arrived here on the island. I actually met her in a store on base and we hit it off right away. She has been my tour guide and information desk!
Tonight Carrie and her family (along with some other friends) took us to eat at Arin Krin aka the Garlic House and it was great!!! If you come to visit me you can expect to eat dinner here. Everyone ordered a couple dishes and then we passed them around the table we enjoyed chicken (with amazing sauce) fries ( with the same sauce), corn soup, taco pizza, garlic pasta and much much more. It was great the staff were super friendly and helpful and understood English. -always a plus when dining in Okinawa.
We are planning a month full of exciting adventures. We are going to a local festival next weekend along with a friends birthday party. The following weekend we hope to attend a bull fight--- I am super excited about this. On the 22nd I am going to a village Tug of War with girlfriends ( David has to work :( The last weekend of the month we hope to go on a Farm and Fish tour. Which will show us the best places to get local/inexpensive/fresh food!!
We love all of you and miss you and hope to hear from you soon !!!!
