ALL CLEAR

We made it through out first typhoon. The storm ended up hitting 20 miles north than originally planned....which worked out well for us. People on the east part of the island reported it was just a little windy but we live on the west side and the wind blew HARD for at least 4 hours! The good news is David got a day off work and as far as we know no one was hurt from the storm... there is just clean up to do.
David was very worried about our "neighborhood dog"(he is very timid, David tried to get him to go upstairs before the storm but he wouldn't get close to David) but after leaving for work today he called to report that "Frank" aka stray dog had made it through the storm and was sleeping in the flower bed. :)
There is another storm that is possibly headed this way right now it is only a tropical depression. We are keeping our eye on it and watching for any development while saying prayers for people in the path of Hurricane Earl back it the states.

Random Pictures

This is David's new truck it's 2 years younger than my brother Jay lol. Most of the cars on the island are from the 1990's.
The picture to the right is of our apartment. Our apartment is on the 2nd floor.

This is the view from our balcony!

These fairies are ALL over the island.

The picture to the right is of David at the beach...close to our house. The beaches are so different and coral is everywhere. Shoes have to be worn in the water so that your feet don't get cut.

TYPHOON!!!!

I haven't done a great job keeping this blog updated but I am hoping that changes next month. Right now we are waiting for our first typhoon. David is sleeping ... he's REALLY concerned(Yeah right) and I am looking at updates and satellite pictures every five minutes. The current report is that the storm will be here by three and the worst part of the storm will be crossing three miles north of our house around 7pm. It is the amazing technology that is around today. We have TONS of supplies and live in a concrete building on top of a huge hill. (Our house won't flood.) So we will be ok. Just wanted to update everyone back home and tell you guys we love you!!! I will update this when the storm passes. (Don't be alarmed if you don't hear from us for a few days it is "normal" to lose power for up to 4 days when a typhoon occurs here.) Here is what the storm looks like.
